Our unique clinical approach to performance is ideal for anyone and everyone seeking to optimize their daily living functions, both in life and the gym.  We have many patients who come to us with pain, disfunction, or areas of the body that bring discomfort which may be exasperated by movement, working out, or even simple daily living.  This is where our clinical performance session comes in.  We work along side you to identify the disfunction, support you on your path to INTENTIONAL healing, and get you back to LIVING the best version of you.

STEP 1

INITIAL EXAM

First we begin with a 1:1 initial exam with Dr. Books a clinical musculoskeletal and movement expert.  This exam will help us discover hidden injuries, compensations, areas of weakness, as well as areas of strength.  This is a critical piece to your improvement!

Your detailed and focused exam, may include:

-orthopedic

-neurologic

-dermatologic

-movement assessment

-muscle and strength testing

 

TREATMENT PLAN

STEP 2

Once we have a baseline of information, we design a targeted strategy and treatment plan specific to YOU.  Your plan will include a series of therapeutic techniques to restore normal function of nerves and muscles, to include movement, balance, coordination, decreased kinesthetic sense, and impaired proprioception.  Our CPT program will address the quality of movement and emphasizes joint control in all three biomechanical/movement planes. Has effects on functional performance, biomechanics, and muscle activation patterns of the surrounding joint musculature.

The benefits of CPT sessions improves the ability of nervous system to generate a fast and optimal muscle-firing pattern; these exercises create compensatory changes in active muscular patterns and facilitate dynamic joint stability.

STEP 3

Once your initial examination and treatment are complete, the TPB Clinical Performance Training (CPT) program becomes available! Led by Dr. Books, this program involves one-on-one private training sessions in our cutting-edge, newly equipped clinic fitness gym. The CPT regimen includes various exercises such as plyometrics, movement exercises, core strengthening, balance drills, resistance training, and speed-focused routines.

This specialized training involves the integration of multiple body segments, generating explosive movements or handling heavy loads, which demands significant neuromuscular involvement. Therefore, our emphasis lies in strength, power, speed, and hypertrophy training to enhance fatigue resistance.

The comprehensive TPB services cater not only to injury recovery but also to injury prevention and athletic enhancement:

  • Chiropractic Adjusting: Using chiropractic manipulation to restore natural range of motion and proper function to affected vertebrae or joints.

  • Advanced Dry Needling: For releasing muscle tension, expediting injury recovery, and prepping for races or training.

  • Functional Exercise Prescription: Tailored exercises designed by therapists to aid recovery and boost sports performance.

STEP 4

ONGOING 
EVALUATION

During your journey towards performance optimization, Dr. Books will continue to perform ongoing evaluation and impromptu correction, where breathing and exercise form will be constantly evaluated.  Compensatory patterns will be stopped, evaluated further, and corrected with specific treatments, potentially even during the session.
